Carne Porco à Alentejana, Portuguese Surf & Turf Carne de Porco à Alentejana is one of the most traditional and popular pork dishes of Portuguese cuisine. It is typical from the Alentejo region, in Portugal, hence the word Alentejana (from Alentejo) in its name. It is a combination of pork and clams, with potatoes and coriander.

Traditional moroccan aroma and flavours of cinnamon, ginger and cumin in one pot, the Tajine.

If you do not own a moroccan Tajine, any cooking pot with a lid cover will also suffice.  If it cannot be used on the stove, just use a deep pan with a lid. 

***The recipe here is using the Non stick Tefal Tagine.

Bacalhau á Brás is one of the most traditional ways to prepare Salted Codfish (Bacalhau) in Portugal.

It is made from salted cod mixed with onions, and thin strips of potatoes bound by eggs, making it a scrambled egg type of a dish.

Salted Cod can be purchased outside Portugal from any good Portuguese or Italian delicatessen. 

If you cannot obtain Salted Cod, you can still get a great meal and prepare this recipe using unsalted fresh Cod, it just wont have that authentic Portuguese taste.

Caesar Salad is named after chef Caesar Cardini who created it in his restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico in 1924. It became popular in Hollywood and is now considered an American classic.

 

Caesar salad has always been one of my favourite salads; I discovered that by adding a few extra ingredients you could turn this salad into a satisfying main course rather than just a light starter.

 

This recipe is also ideal for any leftovers from a previous Chicken roast.

The claim for a Scottish origin for the dish is disputed by a number of Indian chefs, who counter claim that although there are different variations of this dish, it is an ancient dish of Mughali origin.

 

Surveys have found Chicken Tikka Masala to be the most popular dish in British restaurants and it has been called "Britain's true national dish."
